At Wappella in this co they had to stop for two hours while there about 15 of the men (poss 10 to 20. Ludwick says) entered the shop of Maurice Ludwick an excellent little Irishman (hating his democracy) Literally gutted it taking away about 45 pairs of boots & 185,00 worth of leather. They had no quarrel with him did not know him nor did he make any resistance It was in the night they would not permit him to strike a light.
