  • Reeder Collection

Named for collection donor Warren A. Reeder of Hammond, Indiana, the images in this collection highlight the city of Danville, Illinois in the 1900s. Danville, Illinois, was a major coal mining city in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The city suffered financial blows when the coal mines and factories closed in the later years of the 20th century.

Photographs in this collection include images of storefronts in downtown Danville, St. Patrick's Catholic Church, and a photograph of Warren Reeder's father at Musselman's blacksmith shop.
