- Richard J. Daley Collection
Richard J. Daley served as the mayor of Chicago from 1955-1976. Prior to his mayoral election, Daley served in the Illinois House of Representatives (1936-1938) and the Illinois Senate (1938-1946) as well as Cook County Sheriff and Cook County Clerk (1950-1955). He served the Illinois Director of Revenue from 1948-1950. Daley also served as the Cook County Democratic Central Committee Chairman for 23 years.
Photographs in this collection include images of Daley attending political events and speaking at hearings and in the Illinois legislature. The collection also includes portraits of Daley and group photos of him with fellow politicians.
