I reply to yours of the 10th inst. The 16th Regt. I.V. Col. Robt. F. Smith was organized for three months, and afterwards reorganized and continued for the three years service, under nearly the same officers & with nearly the same men. I think it was not at Lexington. The latest information we have, places them at St Joseph Mo. where by writing you can probably hear from your brother.
