Gov Yates

Dear Sir

The Rev E.B. Tuttle a most worthy & suitable clergyman of the Episcopal Church & who has been doing a great deal of good here as a Missionary for some time past desires to be Chaplain in the Army - You could not well find a more proper & valuable man among the troops than he - He would sympathize with & take great interest in them & would secure their respect -

I beg your favorable consideration of Mr Tuttles application -

Yours Very Truly

W.B. Ogden

P.S. Some Respectable & patriotic women called on me to day desiring situations as nurses - They will make formal application
