His Excellency Richard Yates

Commander in Chief &c

My Dear Sir

I again venture to trespass on your time and patience by addressing you this note

I am getting very impatient, cooped up as I am in a county where there is not sufficient Military enthusiasm & patriotism to raise a company

Is there nothing that I can do, can I be of no service whatever, have you filled all your staff appointments? If not, and there is a vacancy, and you think I can fill it, please inform me of the fact. I desire to do something if I can. Please answer me by return mail

I remain your Excellency's

Most Obedient servant

Francis B Anderson
