Hon. Richard Yeates Govenor of Ills. as the War Dogs is about to be turned loose against our government, we the citizens of Perry County that is not inlisted in the war service at present is desirious of having the privalige of protecting our own homes and fire sides and to repell any invasion or mob violence that dare disturbe or invad our homes in Perry County or any adjoining county we ask your Honor to grant us the privalidge of organising our selves in Military companies for homes gards Perry County has sent two companies in the service of the government and is now desirious of organising three or four companies to protect our own county or any part of Illinois if necessary there is men in this county that is over 45 yers of age an men that cannot leave home unless it is intirly necessary that wishes to form them selves into home gards for the purpose to protect our own towns and homes in this Co. we will protect and support the constitution of the united States and of Ills as loyal citizens shoud do we are willing and anxious to furnish our own arms and equipment at our own expenses.
