His Excelency

Gov. Yates

Honored sir

I raised a company here for the Servise of the State, but was to late to be received. I Should then have joined Capt. [Hugs.?] Co. but for my age, that would have kept me out of the Ranks, and his co. was already Officered. I am anixious to be in the servise in som capacity. Cannot Your Exclency or Gen Mather place me in some position where I can be of some servise to my country in the present crisis. if so please command my servises. I am ready at any moment to respond.

With Respect

I remain your

Obedient Servt.

Thos. M. Killpatrick
