Sir: I have the honor to request information concerning accounts of the State of Illinois passed by the 3rd Auditor to your Department for action several months since.

I take this opportunity to state that so far as the Department has required Evidence in relation to the accounts the State has fully replied and that the delays experienced in final adjustment of our claims are highly injurious. I will feel thankful to you for early reply.
