Jeffersonville Indiana.

Dear Sir: This will be presented by Mr. Wm. G. Herron of Monticello Piatt Co Ills who goes to Jeffville to see his Brother Samuel H. Herron [first?] of Co - 107th Regt. Ills Vols.- but now transferred to the Veteran Reserve Corps. I am informed he has been in Hospital since 22nd. June 1863. - I will feel personally obliged if you will cause him to be examined immediately for discharge. If he cannot be discharged (I think he should be) please let him have a furlough to come home, and very much oblige me. The bearer of this letter is a gentleman of the soundest loyalty & highest respectability
