Colonel

I have been requested to submit this letter to the Governor. I understand Capt Race is a good officer & if opportunity offers hope he will be remembered.

At the same time use all influence you can & urge the Governor to do so to have the 10' sent in some direction where it will not fall in Genl. Morgans Brigade, the good of the service requires a separation Yours Respectfully

Jackson Grimshaw
