You would confer a favor if you would be kind enough to send me the Public Documents of your state named on the next page, for the years since 1860, as they would be very useful to me in preparing a work I now have on hand entitled the "topography of the United States" a prospectus setting forth the [illegible] of which, will be sent you as soon as ready
