Bagby & Anderson,

Attorneys and Counselors at Law, and General Land Agents,

Rushville, Schuyler County, Ills.

Rushville, Ill., April 18th 1864

Hon Richard Yates

Dear Sir The bearer James H Parrott is one of our citizens whose loyalty is above reproach. He desires to procure for Daniel B. Smith another of our citizens whose loyalty is unquestionable a permit to carry a Stock of goods to Nashville & trade them. Both these men are altogether reliable and any assistance you may have it in your power to give them will be properly bestowed on worthy & loyal men. I have known both from boyhood & will vouch for both

Yours truly

John C. Bagby
