Richard Yates,

Dear Sir,

A little draft was sent you by Mr Ballastur of N Y. for his son. When it was rec'd the son had gone. My name somehow was mentioned in the matter & your Sec. wrote me to know what to do with it I requested him to forward it to me, as the boy's mother was here,

I was informed when last at Springfield, it had so been sent; but it has never been received, by me,

Will you please ask your Sec. to look carefully to see if it may not have been over-looked, and also if he does not find it, make inquiry at the PO. there.
