Privet volunteer of the 7th

Regiment of volunteers of Captain

W Clark Co C Which are at

Mattoon at this time I Was

enlisted by Capt Clark at

Monticello Piatt County ill on

the 19th day of aprile 1861 fore to

serve 3 months in the servis of

the U.States he said i would

get thirty three dollars for the

3 months and every thing [found?]

me and about the 20th of may

while in servis i was taken

with a Disiase which is Caled

the blind Piles which was

pronounced by the Doctor to be

incurable and by him i was

Discharged on the 3 day of June

leaving me sick without Close


and without money and i rite

you these few lines to see if you

Can Do Any thing for me as i

am now under the Doctors Care

and stand in need

of money and Cloths

both very bad

To Govener Yates from your
