Gov Yeats Sir

As I have bin thretaned by the

trators of this County I take

this method of reportin them as

I had no means of defense I am

not Able to arm my Self

on the 16 of this month I went

where I had my tools and I was

raidged upon for joining A company

of Volenteers by the traitors and

they had in number Sum 8 or 9

that was in great raidge against

me for I said that if a man had the

Chans to volenteer in the Defense

of his Cuntry and did not he was A

coward or traitor and they said they

that they [alowed?] to go South

and fight for Jef Davis and

was [Drinkin?] and [illegible] for

Jef Davis the fedral goverment


and they thretaned all that

should report them and yesturday

theare was a man told me that

theare was a man that said he had

A [compney?] and A [land?] to try us

or at least he thout he would

theas mens names that run are

one was Samuels Leander Carnes

Wm Rawls Crifes Apleton Mcgee

and others this one that thretened

the [company?] his name is Wm Fergerson

if you doo any thing with these

trators pleas it Dark that I

reportid them as they are thick

Heare and I have no way of Defense

and they no it if I had I would

not mind it if you would

want to find me I live on

the East Side of [place] perarie

on the Jefersonvill Road
