Dear Sir:
This will be borne and presented by my friend Col Chas H Fox of Jacksonville Ills who is a lawyer, a speaker, as well as a soldier of ability and one who has nobly sustained the government in the days of its peril.
Col Fox visits Washington on business and while there may apply for some office of the hand of the Governments. His services in our last campaign, and his services in
the field make a mark of favor both appropriate and deserved, and his numerous friends throughout the State will hail any position he may receive as a just tribute, and a recognition of the valuabl service he has rendered the Government.
I hope you will give his claims your most favorable consideration.
