No. 194 BROADWAY

New York, June 14d 1864

His Excellency.

Governor. Yates.

Springfield Ill.

Governor.

The object of my letter is to inquire whether the State of Illinois affords aid to the families of Soldiers resident out of the state. Private John Gunnell 2nd Ill. battery reenlisted Jan. 15. has made application to this Agency for State aid in behalf of his mother resident in this city. Please Advise.

With great respect.

Very Respectfully

Mr [illegible]
