I was then detailed into the 8th Wisconsin Battery, and at the call for Veterans last winter I reenlisted for three years more While at home I was married, Our Battery is doing garrison duty here this summer and I wish to have my wife visit me, My object in adressing you is to see if you will give my wife a recomend for a pass from Louisville to Nashville A recomend from you will

enable her to get a pass with out any trouble, If she can get as far as Nashville she will have no difficulty in getting to this place, If you will assist her to a pass you will confer a great favor upon me - Her adress is Catharine e Carmon Pilot Vermillion Co Illinois
