Dear Sir:

I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your favor of the 2nd inst, requesting me in behalf of “The Finance Committee of the Chicago Board of Education,” to embrace in the call for a special session of the Legislature in the event of such a call being issued, as one of the subjects, the [illegible] of the Public Schools of the City of Chicago.”

In reply have the honor to state that I acknowledge the importance of the object which you have in view, and will give it due consideration, if I should deem it necessary to convene the Legislature in special session.
