Through the Kindness of Sir C H Philbuck I have before me your letter to him of 1st Inst requesting indorsement on Genl Paine's recommendation of Lt W B Casey. &c &c.
I have this day handed to Mr P. the paper indorsed as you desired and hope Casey will receive promotion.
