Dear Sirs.

I have written by the bearer Mr Roderiggs to Governor Yates in relation to two of our soldiers in hospital at Louisville and for fear the Governor may be absent I write to or either of you to open the letter to the Governor, and endeavor in his absence to get for these worthy people what they want

Whether the Governor is there or not, I hope you will render these people your kind offices for the bravery of their Kindred. And thusly Confer a favor on
