His Excellency Richd Yates

Dear Sir, As one of the Constituents of Hon. E M Haines, Representative from Lake County, I take the liberty to address you for information concerning the course pursued by him during his term of service in the Legislature presuming you will be better able to inform me than any other person. I wish to learn whether in your opinion he was in any respect unfaithful to the principles of the Republican party; or that he did any act inconsistent with those principles.
