Rock Island Ill August 14th 1861
I take great pleasure in Stating for the information of any concerned, that I have enjoyed the personal acquaintance of Mr John A Jordan of our County for several years, and can testify from my own personal knowledge, that his standing as man and a citizen is, in every respect, of the most unexceptionable character. That he is one of our most respectable and prominent Citizens, and a much esteemed magistrate in his neighborhood. Should his services be required in the Service of his Country, I have no hesitation in Saying that I can fully and unqualifiedly recommend him as a Gentleman in whose integrity and ability the utmost reliance may be placed
