Dear Sir I take this time to trouble you with a letter my son's time expires the 21st of this month. he does not wish to leave the service. though some mistake, he had not his commission renewed. he says he will be mustered out of the service. the Reg (33rd), reenlisted he had just received his commission as 1st Lieut of Co A. 33rd I do not think any of the officers had there commissions renewed he wishes to get a position in some one of the new Reg that will be raised in the State, he says he wishes to See the thing out, I would refer you to Col


Lippincott. Liet Col Potter Maj Elliott and to any of the officer of the 33rd as to his qualities as a soldier or officer as he has served in all positions from a private to Adjudant of the Reg. Should you be satisfied that he is a good Soldier, and officer, Any thing you may do for him will be held in greatfull remembrance, by the him & the Family
