To his Excellancy Richard Yates,

Gov of Illinois,

Sir

I have written to Adjt. Genl. Fuller and also to Washington City for a Certificate of my muster into the United States Service but cannot get it from either place, I now write asking your excellency to do Something to get me out of the service.

I have Served my Country faithfully for over three years and am still kept here on account of having no Descriptive Roll or certificate of muster. If it is in your power to do so you will greatly Oblige me by having it sent immediately or doing something that will lead to getting it for me. this is a very Sickly place and I would like to

get away as soon as I can.
