Gov. Richard Yates

Illinois

The undersigned George Rayhill a resident of Pana Precinct County of Christian and State of Illinois, is desirous of visiting Camp Douglas while at the city of Chicago attending other business.

This Therefore is to ask of your Excellency, that you grant him a pass or permit to visit said camp Douglass to see a retalive now held as a prisoner of war at said place, Very Respectfully

The undersigned citizens of the Town of Pana County of Christian and State of Illinois are well acquainted with George Rayhill the within Petitioner and know him to be an unflinching unconditional Union man.

The Relative he desires to see is a Brother to his wife, and we are fully sure that no detriment or ill consequences will arise from his desired visit, If you can consistently Grant his request.
