Allow me to pen you a few lines as I am one of your soldiers a member of Co. G, 64th Ill {Yate's Sharp. Shooters} I have been sick and am not well now I left the Reg't at Atlanta Ga was through all of Genl. Sherman's Campaign and was transferred from Atlanta to Nashville from there to Louisville from there to this place Madison Ind

Now there are some Illinois boy's here and as all Ind Boy's are at Home we would like for you to have us transferred to our State Ill if you have any leisure please answer

as a soldier of the Union I subscribe myself
