Dear Sir

         After my best respects I would most respectfully call your "Special". attention to the following.  There is a vacancy in Co B 107 Regt Ills vols made vacant by the resignation of Capt James K Turner which (illegible) the Company to a first Lieutenant. The applicant for that vacancy is Orderly Sergt Charles K Zorger who as you are aware is in the regular line of promotion you will confer a great and lasting obligation upon me by appointing Sergt Charles Zorger to fill the vacancy  I am well acquainted with him he is a deserving man and has many influential friends in the Union Party in this County

I have not received your Bryon Hall Speeches yet that you Spoke of in your last will take great pleasure in distributing them when they come Hoping you great Success in the Senatorial canvass. I remain yours as ever
