To govener Yates honorable Sir I drop these lines of enquiry to you. threw the request of my Son ho is in the navy Servis & has bin for the spase of 3 years the 22nd day of february sent requesting to no of you if he is intitled to a local bounty or not from the State of Illinois as he enlisted in the State of Tennessee I his father was living in the State of Illinois at the time he volenteered he was only 18 years of age & was up there atending Some of my business & he enlisted the first expedition up the Tennessee river on the gunboat Tyler under capt quinn Answer this request if you please believe me to be yours
