Hon Richard Yates

Dear Sir...... Yours of 20th I received yesterday I am summoned to Washington to look after some matters in the Supreme Court in which the Bridge across the Mississippi river is concerned; I have done what I could about here and believe that our representatives are all right I fear McIntyre and was right about Sedgwick as You have been, but I may be mistaken about McIntyre. I shall try to have Mr Glover come down in my place he can do all that I could and is sagacious I think, the little claim I had for services in the McAllister & Stebbins matter I think is right all I want of you however is to go before the finance committee & say what is right about it. Mr Cassell said something about its being mentioned in your message but that is wholly unnecessary. I hope you will come out all right and if possible I will come that way on my route to Washington
                                               Yours Truly
                                                          B.C. Cook
