Copy of resolution of the council of the said borough, unanimously passed at a meeting thereof, held on the 10th day of May, 1865.
Resolved, That this council regards with intense horror and detestation the diabolical assassination of President Lincoln, the twice elected Chief Magistrate of the United States; and hereby records its heartfelt sympathy with his widow and countrymen, in their mourning for his loss and untimely end, hoping that their sorrow may speedily be assuaged by the return of national peace and prosperity.
