Sir;

        I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 19th (aust.?) requesting the transfer of John Johnson Co. A. 78th Ills. Vols.,  Cornelius F. Bliss Co. G. 51st Ills. Vols., and Chas B. Kewpil __  now in U.S. Hospital at Jeffersonville, Ind., to Genl. Hospital at Quincy, Chicago, and Springfield, Ills. respectively.

         If upon examination they are found proper subjects, the transfers will at once be made; except in the case of the man last named, there being no vacant beds at Springfield

Ill. the transfer in his case cannot be made at present.
