                     Dear Sir I came here to See My son - who is on detail duty at Draft Head Quarters on account of his Mother taking So to heart to see hir son return to the Army, to appeas hir I thought I would hire a substitute in his place  I learn that there is a young Man here - who the war department has granted the priveleage to put in a substitute - requiring him to pick a Substitute for three years - I am willing to hire a good acceptable Substitute to Serve for three years if the war department will discharge my son - who has less than one year to serve.  If you could assist me in procuring an order to that affect you would confer a favour that would not be forgotten  Most Respectfully Yours Geo Scott
