Sir as I am an old soldier, or A Recruit now. But served upwards of 3 years in the old 18th Inft. I take the liberty to recomend my self to you for an office, in this new organization which I hope you will Remember the meny Battles which is stampt on the old 18th Record. I have Done the state servis since I was mustered out, By makeing some arrests and By Recruiting for different Regts. in the field. I am A Recruit for Co. F. of the 13th Cav. and I have six more of my recruits here. Now I will Close By hoping to hear from you, if you wish to look over the Rools of Co. 'A,' of the 18th Ills Inft. you will find my name
