Hon. Richard Yates,

Springfield, Ill.

Dear Sir,

I notice with pleasure your appointment to speak at Edwardsville County Seat of our County on the 30th inst.

To reach Edwardsville you will no doubt come to Alton by Rail and then take conveyance here.

Will you do me & my wife the honor to make our humble mansion your stopping place while in our City?

You will be obliged to reach here on Thursday Eve the 29th in order to be at Edwardsville in [seasin?] on Friday.

I will provide conveyance for you from our place to Edwardsville.
