                       You will perhaps recolect of meeting me at the Cheney House on the eveny of 8th Inst.  I took the liberty of asking you about fulfilling your appointmet at Aledo Ill.  You will recolect the conversation that you thought you could not be at Aledo on the 27th Sept.  You told me that you would fill that appointmet during the following week. - that you would write me on the next day informing me of the day in which you would be here.  --

  I have not yet rec'd any letter_ it is understood  here that you will not be here upon the 27th and

people are anxious to know what day you will come. The people Will be out. I hope we shall know in due time of your coming. But more, The people of Keithsburg desire you to give them an address, while you are in the County. It is a point which needs your presence & labours as much as any other point.

  Can you give them an address?  I think you will be well received.  Please let me know at as early a moment as possible.  Keithsburg you know is on your way from Oquawka to Aledo.  If you can Stop at Keithsburg (as I hope you may) I would suggest that you call upon Mr Levi A Endor who will be glad to receive you.  Yours Truly

Asks if Gov. remembers his promise which he made on 8th to him about coming there to speak Wants to Know when he is coming & if he cannot stop and speak at Keithsburg & speak. where his services would be beneficial and the people would turn out En masse.
