Mr, Gov. Yates

As I have met with bad luck I will haft to Ask a favor of you. I Enlisted Last March for the term of 3 years, if not sooer Discharged I went to Kingston Georgia, and there I took the Fever and a short spell of that and from that I was put in the V.R.C. I Enlisted for the Field and would like to serve my time out there. we do nothing here but stand guard and Drill. we go on guard Every other Day we have Company drill Twice A Day. Battalion Drills and & Desparade Also. and have About half rations. Gov. I think that is rather hard on us. I would rather go to the field and serve my 3 years from the Day I start there than / to serve my time out here and there is but one way to


get out That I no of , and that is to be Commissioned out There has ben several Commissioned out of here. I Albert Henderson Do Apply for Second Lieutenancie over Affrican troops in the Regt to which you see fit to Assign me to. if you want me to give you A Recommendation let me no and I will Do so. from your Obedient Servant

He is in the V.R.C. Co "F" 9th Regt was formerly in Co "E" 12th Ill Vols. he is now able to do duty in the field and wants to be sent back there.
