His Excellency Richard Gates Govenor os Illinios Springfield Ills.
Sir:
I have the honor to acknowledge reciept of your letter of 20 insh, informing me that Wm N. Morris of Mound City Palnski County has in Camp Butler 23 men enlisted th 146th Ill. Inf. and requestin tranportation for the (illegible) to Alton Ills. to enable him to comply with his arrangement with Maj. Gen Rosecomb to transfer the new to the regiment forming there. In reply I would respectfully request to be furnished with a copy of said arrangements as I have no official information that there is any Regiment forming st Alton, Ills,
