We hereby certify that we are acquainted with John Cameron, private of Company H. 28th Ill's Infantry Vol's, and that he was a resident of Mason County, Ill's. at the time of his enlistment in the Service of the United States, and that we are also acquainted with Mrs. Martha Cameron (wife of said John Cameron) and that she is at this time an inmate of the Lunatic Asylum, at Jacksonville, Ill's. leaving five children without protection or any person to look after their welfare, and we believe that Justice and humanity demands, that the said John Cameron be honorably discharged the service of the United States.
