Dear Sir

The bearer of this W Troy was raised in this county but now resides in the territory of Nebraska and desires the appointment of US Marshall for that Territory. From my acquantance with Mr Troy I have no dout that he would make a most efficient Marshall, and discharge the duties of the office Satisfactorily to the Government your aid in the matter is esp. [illegible] yours H. Mat Stacy.
