Lincoln Ills Oct. 26th 1864
This is to certify that I have been acquainted with Dr. A. Milner for some time, and have some acquaintance of his abilities as Physician & Surgeon. He assisted me is a very difficult operation upon the internal Ear of a gentleman in the city of Chicago last summer, and did his part well. From this and other means I have had a knowing his skill as a Surgeon & Physician I feel glad to recommend him as being worthy of any favor or confidence that may be placed in him &c.
