Will you permit me to direct your attention to the accompanying letter of Wm H Byford, MD. Prof Midwifery &c "Lind University" and ask you to grant me the permit referred to by the Doctor? If you can do me this favor, to expedite matters, would you hand the permit to the Board of Examiners as soon as they reach Springfield?

Should you feel disposed to comply with my request, will you signify your willingness by return mail, that I may make my arrangements accordingly,
