I herewith beg leave to call your special attention to the enclosed documents relating to the case of J.G. Gardner late Lieutenant in the "Peoria Light Artillery and lately dismissed the service.

You can judge yourself from the enclosed letters, of his efficiency as an officer. I would earnestly recommend his case to your favorable consideration and request you to revoke the order dismissing from the service.
