Honorable Richard Yates Dear Sir,
In the change like to be made in our Congressional Districts, there will be a Collector and [Apessor?] of U.S. Revenue to be appointed in our district. Should it meet the approbation of yourself I would have no objection to receive the appointment of [Apessor?] for this district. If I am not in the way of any other friend of yours who may have prior or or superior [clauses?], I should like to have my name mentioned to President Lincoln in connections with that office
