Mr Yates Dear sir Some four weeks ago I with a detective laid before you the case of those robbers in this County they still continue to Rob and plunder peasible citizens and in some cases force them to take oath to support the southern Confedercy You will doubtless rocollect the statement of Mr Forrest the Detective that was with me in your office We want you to look at this Oath and his statement and let us know if the case will not come under the military athority if not


give us your advice how to prceed for we can do nothing with the sivel Law in there case here Please answer this at the earliest convenience With respect your Obediant servant B. D. Cochran
