My Dear Sir

I want to presume upon a slight acquaintance made while I was Professor in the University of Chicago to ask a favor

I very much desire some minor diplomatic appointment in Europe I am not very particular about the position or the compensation only I would prefer France or the Germanic States.

If it lies in your power to secure to me such an appointment or in any way to help me toward it I should feel under great obligations to you

I could furnish abundant

testimony as to my suitability for such position I graduated at Amherst in '58 taught Latin in Chi High School for six years & was Professor in the Chi. University several months resigning because of insufficient & tardy paid salary

My friends here are mostly your friends and I could send their endorsements if ever they could come in service

Yours Respy

Geo C Clark
