Hon Rich Yates

Dr Sir

Yours of the 13th Inst came to hand to day. Governor, I am indeed Grateful to you for your letter to Governor Fletcher and trust that I will not in the future, those or Elsewhere, disapoint Either you or his Excellency.

In regard to Judge Davis I only know him as a Friend, and your letter to atty General Speed led me to think that you had perhaps mentioned the Subject to him. I am confident that he would place no obstacle in the way. If you will give me his address I will write to him I have not asked any one but yourself & Green about this matter Because, I would rather be under obligations to You alone. Yours Truly
