Hon John Farnsworth informed me-he wrote a letter to the President in my behalf, and handed it to you for your endorsement - if approved

I left a note for you in Chicago asking you to send it me at Elgin, but have not received it.

Did Farnsworth lie to me, or have you the letter, and if so, will you oblige me by sending it to Elgin
