Gov Yates Dear Sir Learning that you have just Returned from the Army Somewhat Reduced By that awful Disease which our Boys was afflicted with Last Winter that layed So many in their graves and thinking We Can not afford to Spare you Now Permit me to Send you A Bottle of Blackberry Syrup Made especially for your Complaint I have no interest in the use of it only the good it may do I have spent two months with the Army at Vicksburg assisting in taking care of them and know what they have suffered the Past Winter and still wish to do what I can You may ask who I am I refer to Erastus Wright or his Son in Law Mr. Johnston
